About the business

Using locally sourced ingredients, Maria Roberts has been showcasing her expertise to teach clients how to harness the bold flavours of the tropical isles in an exciting first for the area. 

Maria’s Caribbean Flavas run hands-on cooking sessions where guests are taught how to prepare tropical treats and authentic Caribbean cuisine. The sessions have proven to be a great hit in the community, with all walks of life attending to try their hands (and tastebuds).

How Business Gateway has helped

Inspired to shine a spotlight on her native fare, Maria took the bold steps to launch her business in April this year, and credits Business Gateway with giving her the confidence and guidance to enable her business to flourish. 

The Business Gateway team has provided one-to-one adviser support and advice throughout her journey and across a range of issues including business planning, regulations, funding, HR and marketing. 

Maria has also been assisted in applying for grant funding which will enable her business to take the crucial next steps as she aims to bring her vibrant Caribbean experience to Inverclyde.
